For my thesis I conducted holistic research of graphic design, graffiti, and the overlap of the two. I wanted to give myself a better understanding of how I can highlight the artistic value of graffiti.
I also investigated the origins of graffiti and its many styles, as well as a number of examples of how to apply each style.
With this project, I applied the knowledge found in my research to create a set of typefaces and redesigns. I sought to give the audience a new found perspective on graffiti and legitimize it as a valid medium. My goal was to create something that elicits a reaction from people and changes some preconceived notions about graffiti.
